59 African migrants saved off Morocco’s coast of Al Hoceima

(MENAFN) According to a report by official news agency MAP, on Monday, Feb. 22 Morocco’s Navy saved a number of 59 Sub-Saharan African migrants off the Moroccan Mediterranean coast of Al Hoceima.

A military source stated as cited by MAP that the 59 were saved from an overfull inflatable boat, comprising 33 women, seven kids and seven babies.

Among the saved, a number of four women, one child and two babies were sent to a hospital in Hoceima to get medical treatments.

Morocco has turned into a transit state for African migrants wanting to reach Europe for better living circumstances.
